If you've ever wanted to get into the Grand Havana Room in Manhattan but couldn't wrangle an invitation, next week is your chance. Carlos Fuente Jr.—the maker of Fuente Fuente OpusX and Arturo Fuente cigars—will be the featured guest at the 2008 God of Fire Charity Dinner, being held Wednesday, October 15 at the Grand Havana Room.
Typically a members-only club, non-members are welcome to the cigar dinner, which features a four-course gourmet meal, wine, a God of Fire lighter and three God of Fire cigars, which are also made by the Fuente family. It will be held in the club's dining room, 39 stories above Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan.
The first cigar, paired with the reception, is a God of Fire by Carlito Double Robusto 2006. Cigar No. 2, served with the risotto appetizer, is a God of Fire by Don Carlos Robusto 2006. The final cigar, which will be served after the entrée course of bison tenderloin, is a God of Fire by Carlito Churchill 2006.
The dinner will also include a charity auction benefiting the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation, an organization that helps underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic.
Tickets to the dinner are $425 per person and include tax and gratuity. For more information, or to order tickets, call (212) 245-1600.
